Angela Lansbury wasn't a "goody two shoes." She thrived in her career and personal life because she valued herself and didn't seek acceptance from anyone. Of course, like everyone else, she had to grow to get into that mindset.

Despite Hollywood's obsession with the word "uglies " in the early and mid-1900s, Angela Lansbury stood tall. This derogatory term, used to describe women who didn't fit society's standard of beauty, was a barrier she refused to let define her. She was more than the role of the "jealous friend" or the maid. She was a force to be reckoned with and proved it with her talent.

To us, Angela Lansbury was beautiful and didn't deserve to be heavily judged based on her appearance. There were many actresses that decided to get cosmetic surgery to uplift themselves.

Lansbury also went under the knife, but not for the approval of anyone else but her own.

"Cosmetic surgery shouldn't be just the secret of actresses and socialites now that it's available to anyone who wants it or can afford it," the actress told The Modesto Bee in 1989. The then 63-year-old underwent surgery in 1976 and 1986. "[I have never felt] over the hills in age or looks, but I do believe in doing everything possible for yourself. Before going on a self-improvement campaign, I ask myself, 'Why are you allowing yourself to look like this? You don't like seeing yourself with the uglies; why should anyone else?'"
