Traveling nurse Rachell Dumas' job at an ICU unit in Atlanta, Georgia, had just ended when COVID hit the United States. She quickly accepted a new assignment as a COVID ICU nurse in Long Island, New York. It was a traumatic experience for Rachell and her colleagues as well as for the patients and their families. And it wasn't long before Rachell herself contracted the virus. After recovering from her illness, Rachell returned to Atlanta, where she started her own consulting company, working with small businesses to keep their employees safe amidst the pandemic.
