Would Jennifer Love Hewitt join a Ghost Whisperer reboot?

We know, we know. "Enough with the reboots," is what most people say when they hear the word. Audiences want original shows and movies, but not all reboots are horrific. For example, a new Ghost Whisperer series wouldn't be a bad idea if Jennifer Love Hewitt is involved; We'd get to see what Melinda Gordon has been up to.

The real question would be, has a reboot even crossed Hewitt's mind? In December 2023, fans got an answer. The actress, who has been busy with various other projects, was a guest on Michael Rosenbaum's Inside of You podcast, where she talked about her then-current roles and if she'd be open to stepping inside the world of Melinda Gordon's again.

"No, I would do Ghost Whisperer," she said on the podcast, according to TV Line. "It was one of my favorite jobs. Melinda Gordon was hands down one of my favorite characters I've ever played, if not my favorite. I would love to do it."

Hewitt played the lead character in the supernatural series from 2005 to 2010. Ghost Whisperer lasted for five seasons and produced 105 episodes during that time, with a season average in viewership never less than 7.7 million. Viewers tuned in every week to see Gordon communicate with ghosts, helping the earthbound spirits resolve their problems so they could cross over into the spirit world.
