Karen first learned photography while studying in France during college. She later attended a photography workshop in Barcelona, Spain; the photos she took there earned her first place in a Kodak competition in Chicago. She worked as an in-house photographer at Foote, Cone & Belding Advertising before starting her own commercial agency, Karen I. Hirsch Photography. Since the start of the pandemic, she has started doing graphic art that she posts online, taking classes in drawing and water color, and led her photo group in Zoom meetings. Karen currently has 14 pieces on display at the Bridgeport Art Center.
