Joyce Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics at The Ohio State University and has published numerous papers but with three children at home due to the pandemic, Chen was forced to put her research projects on hold.

But Chen has been able to shift her focus to diversity and equity work due to the flexibility of that work and has been working to bring more attention to what some are calling a "shecession," because more women are being affected than men during this recession in large part due to caretaking responsibilities at home.

Find out what Chen says she struggles with most during this time.
