Genevieve Thiers wants more women in tech

As the founder of Sittercity and a former babysitter, Genevieve Thiers took the online dating concept and applied it to caregiving to establish a centralized place for parents and caregivers to meet. She launched her company during the dot.com crash, but insists the only way to fix the imbalance of men and women in tech is by being loud. And, as a trained opera singer who’s sung at Carnegie Hall, Thiers admits she is definitely loud – and uses her voice to help other women succeed too.
