When Rebeca Nieves Huffman served as executive director of City Year Chicago, she worked to reduce the high school drop out rate by deploying a corps of tutors, mentors and role models in high need partner schools. Nieves Huffman is the first in her family to graduate from college and believes education leads to opportunity and choice. Her passion for education began when she served as a corps member herself at City Year Chicago over twenty years ago. In January of 2020, Nieves Huffman started her own consultancy firm, Juneteenth Strategic Partners.
