Ava Blaser began to dance at the age of 3, following in her older sister's footsteps, the same age she was first diagnosed with Bilateral Wilms, which is a type of kidney cancer. Following multiple rounds of chemotherapy, she was declared cancer-free in 2012. She returned to dance following her treatment and fell in love with it, saying it makes her "feel free." Six years after initially beating the disease, Blaser experienced a cancer recurrence and endured another harsh protocol of treatment, but fought through it using dance as an outlet. "I wasn't going to let it stop me" the courageous 11-year old declared.
