Dr. Janice Jackson attended Chicago Public Schools, beginning with grade school through high school. She also began her teaching career with CPS. Dr. Jackson has served as a principal, a Network Chief, the Chief Education Officer and now is CEO of the third largest school district in the country. She told Start TV that she comes from "a long line of bossy women," saying of her persistence to reach leadership roles, "I'm aggressive. I don't think that's a bad thing."

Although Dr. Jackson's public school experience was positive, she said, "That wasn't the case for everybody."
