How did Shannen Doherty move on from Charmed?

Moving on is easier said than done. Sometimes leaving behind jobs or relationships feels like a wound that takes years to heal. When Shannen Doherty starred in Charmed, it was her second major show in the 1990s. We all know the story of her getting fired from Beverly Hills, 90210, and somehow, she found herself in a similar situation with Charmed.

Doherty appeared in three seasons as Prue Halliwell before she was fired. "My representatives looked at me and said, 'No, no, no, your career won't survive another firing, so we're just going to say you chose to leave.' I started laughing and said, 'Who is going to believe that I'm crazy enough to leave a hit show?'" she said in an interview with Variety.

During an episode of Doherty's Let's Be Clear podcast, she invited fellow Charmed co-star, Holly Marie Combs, to speak about the situation. "He said, you know, 'We're basically in a position where it's one or the other. We were told [by Alyssa] that it's [Shannen] or me, and Alyssa has threatened to sue us for a hostile workplace environment,'" Combs shared.

Doherty said she didn't have any issues with Alyssa Milano, who played one of her sisters on the series. Yet the firing happened anyway, and she had to move on.

How did she get past it? "As you get older, you accept that a situation happened. Acceptance and moving on with your life does not equate to forgiveness. You just learn a lesson and look at somebody differently and move on."
