Piper Perabo has had an interesting career in Hollywood. Though we primarily know her as Annie Walker from Covert Affairs, she's been in multiple projects across both TV and film. From action to comedy to drama, she plays a wide range of characters that fans can love and maybe not love so much. Here are five such roles from Perabo's filmography.

1

Violet Sanford — Coyote Ugly (2000)

This is the role that put Piper on the map. Starring in this comedy-drama mixed with musical, Perabo stars as a struggling songwriter trying to make her way in New York City, but she also has a bad case of stage fright. Trying to make ends meet, she learns of the Coyote Ugly bar and after two failed attempts, scores a job there, trying to make it big. After an argument with her dad, being fired from her job and dealing with some relationship issues, Violet is able to push through her stage fright and perform, securing her a record deal.

2

Nora Baker — Cheaper by the Dozen (2003)

Who doesn't want to work with Steve Martin? After her breakthrough in Coyote Ugly, Perabo would go on to star in this remake of a classic comedy from the '50s. Playing Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt's oldest child Nora Baker, she tries to corral her 11 other siblings with her child-hating boyfriend Hank, and hilarity ensues involving a chandelier, a kiddie pool and more.

3

Julia McCullough — The Prestige (2006)

Continuing her rise in prominence, Perabo would go on to star in one of Christopher Nolan's films: The Prestige, playing Julia McCullough, the wife of Hugh Jackman's character John Angier. Julia was a magician's assistant to Milton the Magician, the man who trained both Angier and Christian Bale's character Alfred Borden in magic. When a water tank trick goes wrong during a show, Julia drowns after being unable to escape her bind, fueling the bitter years-long conflict between Angier and Borden.

4

Leah Banning — Angel has Fallen (2019)

Even though Covert Affairs ended in 2014, that doesn't mean that Perabo was out of work, she immediately returned to starring in both TV and in movies. One such time was when she took up the role of Leah Banning in Angel has Fallen, the third movie in the Has Fallen franchise, after Radha Mitchell dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. In this film Leah helps her husband Mike take down a rogue PMC and save the president.

5

Summer Higgins — Yellowstone (2021)

One of the most recent roles on this list, Perabo joined the fourth season of Yellowstone in 2021 as acivist Summer Higgins. A staunch vegan and supporter of animal rights, she frequently butts heads with the Dutton family and the workers on the Yellowstone-Sutton ranch. One of Summer's demonstrations had her and her colleagues stripping and dousing themselves in red paint on the Dutton property and recently she got into a full-on brawl with Dutton matriarch Beth. Needless to say, Summer is a controversial character.
